Join Martin Ennis (Maple Marty), a fourth-generation maple syrup producer, to learn about the exciting world of sap and syrup! During this indoor program in the Downsview Park Hub, Maple Marty will share information about the syrup making process, answer your questions and participants will get a chance to sample sap (weather dependent) and some sweet syrup.

Ennis Maple Products, a 5000-tap family farm is located 20 minutes north of Perth, ON in Lanark County – the Maple Syrup Capital of Ontario. Martin has been involved with making maple syrup his entire life and has seen the industry evolve from traditional buckets and spouts to the first pipeline systems to modern, high vacuum tubing systems with automated controls and monitoring. His love of the outdoors, nature and forest ecology is evident in his family’s stewardship of their 285-acre farm for both today’s food production but also for future generations to continue to scratch out a living from the rocky hills of Lanark County. Martin is also a board member with the Ontario Maple Syrup Producers Association and is the Chair of their Training Coordination Committee.
