Join us for a late summer walk focused on food at Downsview Park! Discover the incredible wild and cultivated foods grown in the park as we explore the trees and plants. We'll then head to the south end for a walk through the Orchard, learning about urban farming along the way. This program covers approximately 2.5 km roundtrip, primarily along accessible paved pathways, though some farm and orchard paths may not be fully accessible. Please contact us with any accessibility questions.
Using various platforms, such as iNaturalist and E-Bird, participants will help with wildlife monitoring, plant identification, and data collection, all guided by our experienced naturalists. Learn how your observations can help scientists understand and protect our environment. Whether you're a seasoned naturalist or a curious beginner, this program offers a unique opportunity to make a difference and deepen your connection with nature.
Participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Pets are not permitted at this program. Service animals are always welcome.
