Celebrate the end of summer by increasing the biodiversity and natural beauty of Downsview Park. We'll work together to plant a selection of native shrubs and trees, expand Toronto's urban forest, and improve the health of our shared environment!
What you'll need to know:
• Meet your event leaders at the Orchard Pavilion in Downsview Park.
• Please arrive on time and prepared for an afternoon spent outdoors.
• Dress appropriately for the weather. Long pants are encouraged. Close-toed shoes are mandatory.
• All equipment will be provided including shovels, mallets, and gloves. If able, participants are encouraged to bring their own gardening gloves.
Transportation:
• There is limited free public parking available at the Downsview Park South Parking Lot (P2), which is located beside the Orchard Pavilion. If this lot is full, other parking lots are available throughout Downsview Park.
• The Orchard Pavilion is a 30 minute walk away from Downsview Park TTC Station. Several buses also connect to Downsview Park. \
Cancellation policy:
• The event will run rain or shine, but will be canceled if there is a greater than 70% chance of thunderstorm or other hazardous weather. Registrants will be emailed by 10:00am on the morning of the event if there is a cancellation.
TRCA is committed to creating an accessible experience for all participants. If you require an accessibility accommodation, please email jasmine.thompson@trca.ca at least 7 days prior to the event.
