Welcome to Downsview Park’s Youth Environmental Stewardship (YES) Program!
Our eight-week program empowers participants to support the beautiful forests and meadows of Downsview Park through direct stewardship action. Not only will you make new park connections, but you’ll also earn community service hours (up to 16 hours!) and gain valuable volunteer experience for your resume.
This opportunity is open to youth between the ages of 14 and 24, who are able to commit to an eight-week program from early April to early June. Specific date and timing will be settled in the winter. We will work as a team to improve naturalized areas through the removal of invasive species, native plantings, and ecological monitoring. No experience or tools are necessary - just a passion for nature and a willingness to learn! Please let us know if you need alternative program timing.
Our Education programs are proudly supported by TD Friends of the Environment Foundation.
