Kory Snache is a cultural land-based educator that works for Wasauksing First Nation. He is from Rama First Nation and has been a traditional harvester for the majority of his life.

Join us as Kory teaches us about Anishnaabeg general understanding of fire and how to create a fire in all seasons. Participants will get to go outside and gather material and try various ways in which to start a fire

We acknowledge that Downsview Park is on the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. We also acknowledge that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit.

This program is for participants 12 years of age or older.
