Canada Lands Company is a self-financing federal Crown corporation that specializes in attractions management and real estate and development. For more than 25 years, the company has developed some of Canada’s most sought-after and sustainable communities and has served as the innovative steward of many of the country’s most iconic attractions: the CN Tower, the Montréal Science Centre, the Old Port of Montréal and Downsview Park, a jewel in Toronto.

As the Park’s owner, Canada Lands oversees Downsview Park’s operations and its exciting evolution.

Under its stewardship, the Park has grown into a beloved green space, coveted outdoor event space and educational destination. The company’s strategic oversight supports Downsview Park’s daily activities and seasonal events which, together, attract almost 200,000 visitors each year.

As the master developer of the lands surrounding the Park, Canada Lands Company is ensuring a sustainable and prosperous future for the Downsview community in which the park will remain its heart and continue to offer unforgettable memories of connection and nature.

Social Impact

As such, efforts have been made to ensure activities are available for all to enjoy Downsview Park, including seasonal art installations, movie nights and ease of access throughout the Park enabled through the Circuit Path and notably the Sesquicentennial Trail. The Sesquicentennial Trail, which represents the paths that Indigenous Peoples and settlers have taken to eventually move forward as one, offers a paved and a softer, natural path that are both are accessible for guests to enjoy. These are but some of the initiatives that capture Canada Lands’ efforts that deliver a social impact.
