The City of Toronto’s Community Environment Days help reduce the amount of reusable or recyclable waste going to landfill and allow for safe disposal of household hazardous waste. A Community Environment Day will be taking place at Downsview Park on Sunday, June 19 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at Upper Parking Lot behind 10 Carl Hall Rd.
Items for Drop-off & Pick-up
Pick-up:
• Free bagged leaf compost (limit of two bags per household, while supplies last)
• Kitchen containers for organics ($7, cash only)
Drop-off for recycling or proper disposal:
• Electronic Waste
• Household Hazardous Waste
Donate items for reuse:
• Sporting goods
• Books (excluding textbooks)
• Cameras, CDs, DVDs and Blu-rays
• Dress-up clothing and costume jewelry
• Clothing, footwear, accessories, linens, etc.
• Small household items
• Music instruments, board games
• Eyeglasses, walking aids, hearing aids, etc.
• Non-perishable food for donation

• Ink cartridges or toner
• Construction waste
• Air conditioners
• Garbage and Blue Bin recycling
• Wood
• Cassette and videotapes
• Commercial/industrial hazardous waste
• Tires and scrap metal
