Canuck pavilion side

Canuck Pavilion is the Park’s North washroom facility located beside the Discovery Centre at 70 Canuck Avenue. This all-season building was designed with accessibility and inclusivity in mind. Fully AODA compliant, it features barrier-free access and universal washroom stalls.

The journey to bring the Canuck Pavilion to life began with design, revisions, and procurement between December 2022 and July 2024. Construction officially started in October 2024 and was completed by July 2025. The result is a thoughtfully crafted space that blends functionality with environmental responsibility.

Sustainable features of the Canuck Pavilion include:

bird house
  • A low window-to-wall ratio and insulated exterior, windows, and doors to maintain stable indoor temperatures
  • A large roof canopy that provides shade and reduces heat gain
  • A stormwater runoff system that irrigates surrounding native plants
  • Bird and pollinator houses that attract birds, butterflies, and bees
  • Solar panels on the roof that generate more energy than the building consumes

bike repair station

The Canuck Pavilion also includes several visitor-friendly features: a water bottle filling station, bike stands, bike repair station, and bird/pollinator houses.

A TV screen promotes the Park’s programs and events. If you’re interested in sponsoring the pavilion and having your name featured on the screen, we invite you to reach out to us at Downsviewinfo@clc-sic.ca
