Join us for the solar eclipse happening on April 8 and gear up with FREE eclipse glasses! Come to the top of the Mound on April 8 at 1:30pm to grab yours before the eclipse starts. We have limited quantities available, only 60 solar eclipse glasses to give out for this special occasion, so first-come, first-served!
Safety tips on viewing the eclipse:
- Don't Look Directly at the Sun: Even during an eclipse, looking directly at the sun without proper eye protection can cause serious eye damage.
- Avoid DIY Filters: Use approved solar glasses that meet international standard ISO 12312-2. Homemade filters or makeshift solutions are not safe for viewing the sun.
- Keep a close eye on children looking at the eclipse: Make sure they are wearing their glasses properly as their eyes allow in more light than adult eyes, so they are at higher risks of harm when looking at the sun without proper protection.
