Come take a walk with us and learn something new about the Park.
Here’s what to expect:
• Each program is 90 minutes
• For youth and adults age 16+
• Takes place on accessible pathways
• A Walk in the Park runs Tuesday mornings during the summer
Do I need to register? If the program is free, can’t I just drop in?
Yes, you will need to register to attend A Walk in the Park.
I’d really like to attend an upcoming session, but I don’t think I can make it for the start time. Can I join halfway through the program? / If I’m running late, can I still attend?
You’re most welcome to join past our start time, but you’ll have to find us (our programs don’t typically take place in one location).
If you know ahead of time that you’ll be joining us late, please give us a heads up at @email. We’ll do our best to accommodate you.
I’m interested in attending but I would need to bring the kids with me, and they’re under 16 years of age. Is that okay?
Infants are always welcome with a parent but if you’re looking to register an older child who is under 16 years of age, please send us an email at @email before doing so.
We also have a program called Nature Connection that’s geared towards families! Jr. Forest Explorers is also another option for toddlers and caregivers.
Can I bring my dog to this program?
Pets are not permitted at this program. Service animals, however, are always welcome.
Is this program accessible?
Yes, A Walk in the Park is accessible. However, if you have any specific concerns or would like us to provide you with more information, please send us an email at @email.
Is this program also offered in French? How can I sign up for a French session?
Our regularly scheduled A Walk in the Park sessions (Tuesday mornings) are offered in English. However, we also run French sessions upon request. Please send us an email at @email to request a French session.
Downsview Park has and will continue to follow all public guidelines related to COVID-19. The health and safety of our staff and participants is our top priority. Please note that as guidelines change, we may need to adapt our programming. Any changes will be communicated as early as possible.
