Program description
Downsview Park offers a variety of opportunites to learn about the environment while taking part in hands-on stewardship activities:

  • Help enhance Downsview Park’s natural features
  • Tend to Evergreen’s native tree nursery
  • Visit an urban farm

What to bring
Weather-appropriate clothing, sturdy footwear and a water bottle.

We will provide
Gloves, tools, drinking water and snacks.

Meeting location
Downsview Park’s Discovery Centre, side entrance of 1-35 Carl Hall Road.

Program description
Give your employees the green thumbs up! Organize a corporate tree planting or stewardship event with Evergreen and Downsview Park and help build Downsview Park’s Canada Forest. For groups between 10 to 40 team members, we can help make your corporate team building event contribute to greener, cleaner living by planting trees in Toronto’s greatest park.

Dates for planting events: May to early June, mid-September to end of October

stewardshipEvergreen Community Tree Nursery at Downsview Park

Program description
This is a new exciting pilot project coordinated by Evergreen. Evergreen has established a tree nursery in Downsview Park. The nursery will provide great opportunities for volunteers to learn hands-on about the work involved in growing seedlings (young trees). Training will educate participants  about the benefits of urban restoration programs.

Come join the community stewardship team at Downsview Park and help tend the trees of tomorrow.
